This website is a resource providing an opportunity for information sharing among families, professionals and others supporting our students.  It is in working together that we will maximize our students’ educational successes.


The FOCUS website provides best practice information in language, behavior, social skills and academic instruction.  Resources include the Book Nook [a library sharing area], A View into Our Classroom [monthly themes, songs and literacy ideas], Parent and Professional Corner [activity links and best practice information] and Question Connection [where questions may be presented for review by our professionals].

 

The FOCUS Program
Giles County Public Schools is committed to providing a continuum of educational programs that will meet the needs of all students. The FOCUS program was created to provide preschool through second grade students with specialized instruction in the areas of language development, behavior management, academic and social skills training. The center based program will provide ongoing assessment and instruction using researched based methods.  The FOCUS program provides for intensive one to one and small group instruction while also allowing students to  have daily inclusion opportunities with age appropriate peer groups at their home school.
